Friday Flash 15th July

Roast Night:  Due to increased costs around food we will have to increase the cost of our Wednesday Night Roast to $15.00.  This will start from next Wednesday being the 21st July.

Virtual Fishing Night:  Will be held this Saturday from 6-9pm.  This should be a great evening and we would love to see our juniors in here having a go as well.  We imagine they would be pretty good at this.

Pink Ribbon:  Held last Saturday night and it was a great evening making over $6000.00 to be given to the Pink Ribbon Charity.  Many thanks to the ladies who attended and made it such a good evening.

Tairua Boat Show:  Will be running 13-15th August at the Tairua Marina.  Over 100 different models of boats, plus  huge free to enter prize draw with lots of individual prizes including a Maxxon Rib with Parsun outboard motor pack, Yamaha 4 stroke outboard motor, Shimano Fishing tackle, Lowrance and ICOM electronics and more as prizes.  Adults $10 and kids are free

Nominees will be put on the noticeboard in the clubrooms.

Ladies Tournament Convenor:  Are you interested in being involved in the 2022 Ladies Tournament?  We are looking for a convenor who would like to get a team together to convene our Ladies Tournament.  If you are interested in helping out in any way please contact Caroline in the office 07/8664121.

We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Julz, Tina and Karen and their helpers for their dedication, hard work and passion to ensure this tournament has been a success in the many years that they have put this together. They have decided to have a break from this tournament but you will see them around helping other tournament convenors.

We would also like to thank the many sponsors of our ladies tournament for their continued support throughout the years and we look forward to working with you all to continue the success this tournament brings to the community and the club.

Meeting for Protecting the Sea on Our Doorstep – Where from Here?

Saturday, 17 July from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at the Mercury Bay Club, Cook Drive, Whitianga.

A community discussion – There is a concern that if our voice is not heard at this stage, we may see a proliferation of marine protected areas foisted on us without consultation.

Please attend the event if you can to avoid the possible pain of the thin end of the wedge!

Hireage of Blue Lagoon  Our Blue Lagoon area is available to be hired should you need a dry space to work, if you are interested please contact Louise for further details

We would like to thank our volunteer drivers for our curtesy van that we run on a Thursday night and also to John who volunteered to drive on Saturday night for our Pink Ribbon event.  You are all a huge help to the club and appreciate you giving up your time to make sure our Members arrive and get home safely.

# 93       Pauline   A good throw across the pool table and well                    caught

# 48       Karen    Another easy throw, think Alan got off easy as it                seemed to be ladies night tonight.
