We are open again:
Now that we are open in level 2 please feel free to come into the Club, we do have restrictions in place of only being allowed 50 people in the Club at one time and also that everyone must remain seated while in here, so we will be doing full table service for you. Our kitchen is also open, running a special priced menu throughout this time with a roast pork on offer tonight for $15.00. On Sunday will be offering up as a special a beef curry. All of our menu can be ordered as a takeaway if you are wanting a quiet night at home so just ring the Club and place your order and we’ll let you know what time it will be ready for you. Please remember to scan in on arrival or our staff can take down your details as we are required to by law.
It will be great to catch up with you all again as we’ve missed you!!

All renewal subscriptions for 2021-22 have well and truly been out now for some time, to avoid a late fee of $20.00 subscriptions are due by the 20th September, if you are planning on fishing please pay before you go so club points and fish can be recognised. If you haven’t received a renewal form please contact the office. (we may not have an updated address for you).

AGM and Prizegiving – Sunday 24th October, at 5PM
Because our AGM & Prizegiving should take place when NZ is at a level one and that everyone has the opportunity to attend and enjoy the occasion, it has been decided in the interests of members’ health and safety to postpone the event until Labour Weekend Sunday 24th October at 5pm
(we hold our snapper tournament on Saturday 23rd October). It is possible in these uncertain times that a further postponement may be necessary.

Closure of the East Coromandel scallop fishery:
The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries, Hon. David Parker has decided to impose a two-year fishing closure of the East Coromandel scallop fishery, in response to a request received from the Ngāti Hei Trust in February this year.
This closure will come into effect on Saturday 11 September 2021.
It will end on Sunday 10 September 2023.
The closure is made pursuant to section 186A of the Fisheries Act 1996.
The Gazette Notice and map can also be found on Fisheries New Zealand’s website, here.
A public notice notifying the closure will be placed in the Waikato Times and Mercury Bay Informer in the coming days.
