Rules

Register to represent the MBGFC on the national stage now! With there being no Open Tournament running alongside nats this year, entries are just $25 per angler, and the fishing area is NATIONWIDE!

IMPORTANT INFO:

🎣 All team members must be financial members of an affiliated club!

🎣Day members must pay the day membership fee for each and every day (8 days), irrespective of how many days the team member actually fishes!

🎣All members of a team must fish for the same club!  

Fishing Times:

⏰ Start: 15th Feb @ 6am 

⚖️ All catch cards must be sighted by weigh master by 4pm on 22nd Feb!

🎣Each angler can weigh a maximum of 3 fish per species per day 

🎣All fish must be weighed within 36 hours of being caught!

T&R: 

🚩Tag cards must be sighted (physically or electronically) by the Club within 36 hours of being tagged! 

🚩All Tag cards must be accompanied by photographic evidence (still or video) of the Tag clearly inserted into the caught fish!

Minimum Weights:

⚖️ Billfish: 90kg 

⚖️ Shortbill Spearfish: 10kg 

⚖️Mahimahi: 4kg on 15kg+ tackle 

⚖️Bluefin, Bigeye & Butterfly Tuna: Must go line weight 

⚖️Yellowfin Tuna: Light tackle = Must go line weight 

⚖️Yellowfin Tuna: 15kg on 15kg+ tackle 

⚖️ Kingfish: Must go line weight & exceed 75cm 

⚖️ Kingfish T&R: Must exceed 75cm 

⚖️ Albacore: 1kg on 1kg-3kg tackle, 2kg on 4kg-10kg tackle 

⚖️ Snapper: 1kg on 1kg-3kg tackle, 2kg on 4kg-10kg tackle 

⚖️ Kahawai: 1kg on 1kg-3kg tackle, 2kg on 4kg-10kg tackle 

⚖️ Skipjack & Slender Tuna: 1kg on 1kg-3kg tackle, 2kg on 4kg-10kg tackle 

⚖️ Trevally: 1kg on 1kg-3kg tackle, 2kg on 4kg-10kg tackle 

4 ELIGIBILITY AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY All team members must be financial members of an affiliated club. Team members that enter as a day member must pay the day membership fee for each and every day (8 days), irrespective of how many days the team member actually fishes. All clubs being represented in the National Tournament must be affiliated to, and be financial members of the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council Inc.
