Catch up with all that is happening at the club

FF 21 Jun

FISHING I haven’t heard a lot from people this week so far. What news I have heard has been pretty positive with plenty of snapper being caught. Out around the Mercury Islands has been popular but I don’t know how they’ve got on closer in around the bay this week....

FISHING There hasn’t been a lot of change since last week.   There seems to be plenty of snapper out there with some really good ones amongst them.  I’ve heard good reports from around most of the islands but I had someone tell me they had been doing exceptionally...

FISHING I’m still getting lots of excellent reports about the fishing out of Whitianga.  There are plenty of bait fish around so you can have the nice fresh baits that big fish love.  The common message is that many of the snapper are really big and I’ve heard from a...

FISHING No fishing report this week. Alan will be back next week with updates and reports. SNAPPER TOURNAMENT Entry forms are available for this tournament which will be held on Saturday 1st June on Queens Birthday Weekend.  You can pick up an entry form and rules...

FISHING With a bit of breeze around over the last week or so, there hasn’t been a lot of fishing effort although that will change today with Placemakers holding their annual fishing tournament.  I haven’t heard from anyone who’s been out wide but closer in there is...

SNAPPER TOURNAMENT

It is with regret that the tournament committee has had no option but to cancel the Snapper Tournament due to be held on Saturday June 1st. With wind speed forecast up to 39 knots on some websites we can’t take the risk that someone could find themselves in trouble especially when wind is against tide. If you’re at a loose end later on come down to the club (the driveway is open now!) and we’ll have the Chiefs versus Crusaders on the big screen, kick off at 7:30pm.
