FISHING

Not a lot of feedback from the last week as the breeze has kept most people off the water. It’s been harder to entice snapper to take any kind of bait. Smaller baits seem to work better than large ones and movement is something else worth trying. Slowly retrieved baits up well off the sea floor might be worth a try. There seems to be plenty of snapper around the Puddle – getting them to bite is the challenge.

A relatively quiet week for the club this week while the staff play catch-up as quickly as possible. We have a couple of bookings over the next few days so plenty to keep us on our toes. In addition we are hosting the Mercury Bay Open Spearfishing Competition prizegiving on Saturday and the forecast looks pretty good. If you’re here on Saturday night you can expect to see a few more faces but there’ll still be plenty of room.

Movember is in full swing and the moustaches are improving. Donations towards mens health can be put in the box on the bar.
